Allowing difficult emotions without resistance
Psychological resilience is often misunderstood as emotional control. In reality, resilience strengthens when difficult emotions are allowed to move through the system without resistance.
Anxiety, sadness, or frustration are not signs that resilience is failing. They are signs that the system is processing load. When emotions are suppressed or rushed away, physiological activation often persists. When they are acknowledged without urgency, the system can complete its stress response.
