Reboot: What Does It Mean?

How do you know when it’s time to slow down?

Often it doesn’t arrive as one dramatic moment. It’s quieter than that. You might notice that sleep no longer feels restorative - even when you get enough hours. Your mind keeps racing while your body feels heavy. Small things irritate you more than they should. Meals become rushed or unbalanced, energy dips feel sharper, and your thoughts start circling problems instead of possibilities.

I’ve been there. And I didn’t realize how far I’d drifted until stopping suddenly felt exhausted. I found out that a reboot isn’t about fixing everything at once. It’s about pressing pause long enough to let your system settle. It means calming a nervous system that’s been running on overdrive, gently restoring sleep rhythms (or rebuilding them from scratch), and returning to simple nourishment that actually supports recovery. In short, it’s about getting the basics back on your side.

If you can, create space for rest - more than you think you need. If you’re already running on fumes, that may mean real time off. And if you’re only just starting to feel the strain, this is the moment to slow down while you still have the energy to change course.

Reboot is choosing to reset before your body makes the decision for you.
